Course Summary

**Reasons to choose Kingston** – Kingston was ranked No.1 in the UK for design and crafts (Guardian University League table 2021). – All our projects are developed collaboratively with entrepreneurs, developers, community groups and some of the best design studios in the UK. – You’ll work in newly refurbished, purpose-built design studios and have access to a dedicated art, design and material library and impressive modelling and fabrication facilities. **About this course** We believe design can give form, identity and meaning to a rapidly changing world. As an interior designer, you’ll be able to create ambitious spaces that exploit opportunities and respond to the challenges we face today. This course will prepare you for the demands of contemporary design practice. You’ll be taught by thinkers and makers, designers, architects, artists, engineers and material experts. You’ll learn how to interrogate a problem, playfully speculate solutions, tell stories, create desires and bring designs to an innovative material & spatial resolution. You’ll ask questions about the future and answer with temporary pop-ups or the long-term transformation of redundant buildings. Past student projects have included a floating community space, new retail experiences and the inventive reuse of neglected buildings.
