**This course is offered with a Foundation Year in Social Sciences**
The foundation year in business is taught at Kingston College, close to Kingston University’s Penrhyn Road campus. You’ll be introduced to professional skills, numerical concepts, business IT, marketing, customer care and business law. This foundation year is available with the following courses.
**About this course**
How is our economy affected by markets and institutions? What economic impact might there be from an organisation’s decisions on pricing and corporate finance?
This course offers you an understanding of how economics and financial systems are connected. Through a distinctive, pluralist approach, the course examines both traditional and alternative theories and their real-life applications.
You’ll develop many skills that are highly valued by employers. These include analytical, numerical, data analysis and problem-solving skills, and the use of specialist statistical software.

Standard Qualification Requirements
Other A Level combinations possible to achieve 112 points.
Minimum of 2 A Levels, can be combined with other Level 3 qualifications eg. AS levels/Extended Project to achieve 112 points
UCAS points from a minimum of 2 A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications. General Studies not accepted.
Achieve a minimum of 112 tariff points achieved from either five Highers or a combination of two Highers offered with two Advanced Highers. Where only Highers have been taken a minimum of (BBCCC) are required.
Mature applicants (21 years and older) will need to pass a QAA-approved Access to Higher Education Diploma in a relevant subject with 60 credits, minimum 45 credits at Level 3 including 21 at merit.
Applicants under 21 years will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4 in Mathematics at Standard Level. English Language required at 5 Standard Level or 4 Higher Level.
