**Why choose this course?** – The University’s brand new Town House has a performance studio theatre and three large dance studios, equipped to professional standards with fully sprung floors, mirrors and barres. – 100 per cent of students from this course were in employment or further study within six months of graduating (DLHE 2016/17). – You’ll learn from real-life dance companies. There are guest workshops and in-house residencies from the likes of the Olivier Award-winning Botis Seva and Far From the Norm, What is Written? Dance Company, Adriano Olivera (African) and Paradigmz (Dance Hall). **About this course** On this diverse course, you’ll study a range of styles, including urban and street, cultural and popular styles and Western contemporary dance. Through practical workshops, technique classes and lectures, you’ll develop your own dance identity. You’ll explore choreography, technique and performance, teaching dance and event management. In Year 3, you’ll work with a choreographer to create and perform a new piece of work. You can collaborate across disciplines (such as with a composer or filmmaker). Through a placement, you’ll gain valuable and relevant work experience. Examples of placements include BalletBoyz and The Place.

Standard Qualification Requirements

A-level: Dance / Performing Arts / English Literature or similar grade B (40 points) required. Where A-level does not include Dance or Performing Arts, other dance experience will be considered. General Studies will only be accepted in tariff when 1 of 4 A-levels or equivalent.

BBC-ABB at A Level, BTEC Extended Diploma DMM-DDM or equivalent. GCSE: Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects grades A*-C including Mathematics and English Language (or comparable numeric score under the newly reformed GCSE grading).
