It is also accredited as fully satisfying the educational base for an incorporated engineer (IEng). – An industry work placement and residential field trips will give you real-life experience of surveying, construction and management. – This degree blends technical expertise with management skills, preparing you for managing construction projects. **About this course** If you’re interested in becoming a construction manager, ensuring projects are completed on time, to budget and to a specified quality, this course is ideal. It combines an emphasis on management with grounding in the technical aspects of construction and engineering. You’ll be introduced to the skills and concepts of engineering and construction. These include applied mathematics, science for construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM), engineering drawing and construction management. You’ll also consider materials, structures, computing applications, professional practice, sustainability, health and safety, soil mechanics and construction techniques, including practical surveying. You’ll work on model-making exercises and use computer-aided design to communicate your ideas effectively. Your individual project will be focused on research into a specialised subject.

Standard Qualification Requirements

A minimum of a grade C from A Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics or Use of Mathematics is required.

Points to be from a minimum of two A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications. General Studies not accepted.

Pass Access to HE Diploma with 112-128 UCAS tariff points in engineering, science, business and maths subjects.

Including a minimum of grade 6 in Higher Level Maths and 5 in Standard Level English (4 at Higher Level)

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or Diploma in Engineering including Construction and the Built Environment.

Equivalent of 112 UCAS points to include Mathematics at a minimum of H3.

T Levels T Levels are an alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other further education courses. T Level focuses on vocational skills and can help students into skilled employment, higher education and/or apprenticeships. Students who study T Level spend 80% of the course in the classroom, learning the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action. T Levels are the equivalent to three A levels and we recognise the UCAS tariff points they attract in line with other qualifications that aid progression to higher education.
