Course Summary

Our General Engineering course will give you a holistic understanding of real-world engineering. You’ll be working in teams, taking on some of the world’s most complex problems. You'll develop your experimental and practical skills as well as mathematical and analytical approaches. Your communication, negotiation and practical skills will be developed through project-based learning. All to get you ready for your career in modern engineering. Module themes include sustainability, systems thinking, modelling and simulation, software and programming, engineering design and management and entrepreneurship. In your final year, you’ll complete an individual project, and take part in a substantial group design project with a brief from industry or from the research labs at King’s. Must be combined with two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels. Must include Mathematics or Physics.

Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject (Engineering, Mathematics, Science). Must include at least 15 Level 3 credits in Mathematics awarded at Distinction or 15 Level 3 credits in Physics awarded at Distinction.

Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject. Must include grade A in Advanced Higher Mathematics or Physics.

Including 6,6,6 at Higher Level including Higher Level Mathematics or Physics. The total IB point score of 35 includes TOK/EE. Note: IB students studying the new Maths curriculum would be required to study Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level to meet the subject requirement for this programme
