Standard Qualification Requirements

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels. Biology or Chemistry are required, in addition to studying one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths or Psychology. Plus grade 6/B in both English Language and Mathematics at GCSE.

Must be combined with two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.

QAA Access to Medicine/Dentistry HE Diploma taken at a UK Further Education College full time over one year may be considered. Additionally, GCSE (or accepted Level 2 equivalents) at Grade 6/B in both English and Mathematics required (or recognised equivalent).

Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject. Must include Chemistry and Biology. English also required at Intermediate 2/Standard Credit Grade1 or 2/National 5 with B

including 7,6,6 at Higher Level with HL6 in both Chemistry and Biology. Note the total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE. Grade 5 at Standard Level English and Mathematics is required if not offered at GCSE.

Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered. Must include Chemistry and Biology.

If you are applying for deferred entry, to commence the following September, fees may be subject to change. All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £5,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
