**Physics reaches from the quark out to the largest of galaxies, and encompasses all the matter and timescales within these extremes. It is also an excellent conversion course for applicants who have shown academic ability in non-science subjects. Applications to this programme will be considered for those who are returning to study following a period in work where they have gained relevant experience but do not have traditional academic qualifications. This degree programme introduces you to a range of introductory modules such as Mechanics and relativity and thermodynamics as well as computing skills and mathematics, before progressing to more specialist topics including quantum and atomic physics. You’ll also be able to choose from specialist modules in your final year including optics, medical physics and nuclear physics.
