Studying Music Technology and Audio Production at the University of Kent’s Centre for Music and Audio Technology will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to launch your career in the music industry.
On this exciting programme, you learn how to use audio hardware and software to a professional standard. Areas you explore include: recording and production techniques, music programming, music and media, and music event technologies.
Your critical skills are developed through an in-depth understanding of the technology and its associated music. You also study areas such as music and sound for film, television, media and video games.

You can choose to spend either a term or an additional year in industry. This provides the opportunity to gain relevant workplace experience and increase your contacts and network, so that you can hit the ground running when you graduate.

Standard Qualification Requirements
Subjects should include either Music or Music Technology at grade B.
Scottish Higher qualifications are considered on an individual basis.
The University will not necessarily make conditional offers to all Access candidates but will continue to assess them on an individual basis.
If we make you an offer, you will need to obtain/pass the overall Access to Higher Education Diploma and may also be required to obtain a proportion of the total level 3 credits and/or credits in particular subjects at merit grade or above.
Applicants should have 30 points overall or 15 points at Higher level. Subjects should include Music at HL 5 or SL 6.
The University will consider applicants holding BTEC National Diploma and National Extended Diploma Qualifications (QCF; NQF; OCR) on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for further advice on your individual circumstances.
A typical offer would be to achieve Distinction, Merit, Merit in a music subject or alongside an A-level in Music or Music Technology at grade B.
