Course Summary

Law and Economics offers you the opportunity to study two areas of great significance in contemporary society in a three-year programme which combines the foundations of law alongside compulsory and optional modules in economics (taught by our highly ranked and regarded School of Economics). As a student on this programme, you develop an understanding of the law, taught from a critical perspective which allows you to engage in informed debate about legal issues, and an understanding of economic principles relevant both to global developments and everyday life. Kent Law School is renowned for its world-leading research and an approach which enables you to think critically about law within the broader context of society, considering its role and impact, and the potential it has to change the world we live in. Kent Law School has a multi-award winning Law Clinic which offers the opportunity to gain unparalleled experience of real legal practice. Our co-curricular modules, including our popular mooting programme, develop your advocacy and practical legal skills. Our Wigoder Law Building provides an outstanding space in which students work and learn, and is home to the Kent Law Clinic and a simulated courtroom in our dedicated Moot Court. Kent Law School promotes a culture of aspiration and attainment for all, where you are encouraged to develop, evidence and express your own opinions. We help you to acquire the professional legal skills and the skills of research and intellectual inquiry you need for a successful professional career, in law or elsewhere.
