The International Foundation Programme (IFP) has been specifically designed to prepare international students for academic study on a wide range of our undergraduate degree programmes. The International Foundation Programme offers a guaranteed place on an undergraduate degree programme at Kent upon successful completion. The programme provides a series of academic content modules in addition to modules in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Academic Skills. If you pass the International Foundation Programme and meet the rules of progression, you will have all the qualifications that you need in order to continue your studies at degree level. As the International Foundation Programme contains its own language training module, you will not need to take an additional English language examination such as IELTS. The International Foundation Programme takes place at the University of Kent, and students are full members of the University with access to University accommodation.

Applicants will need GCSE grade A/B/C Mathematics or equivalent for some degree programmes. If you do not have this level of qualification, you will need to take the IFP Maths module. All applications are considered on an individual basis. Applicants should have 5.0 overall in IELTS with no less than 5.0 in each band. For entry on to the IFP, IELTS tests must be taken at a UKVI approved centre and the test report form must give the UKVI number of the testing centre.
