The Business Information Technology degree gives you the skills required for the practical application of computing to areas typically found in business and industry. Modules, taught by specialist lecturers from the School of Computing, include a solid grounding in programming and information system development as well as business-related modules like e-commerce, computer applications and computer consultancy. Lecturers from Kent Business School, meanwhile, teach a range of core business and management modules to equip students for their future work in business. Over half of the students in our school choose to do a Year in Industry after the second year. This gives real work experience, a salary, and often a solid offer of a job after the final year. Kent IT Consultancy (KITC) offers an opportunity to learn how to become an IT Consultant by providing computing support to local businesses while earning credits towards your degree. The School of Computing is an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence for programming education, with 97% of our research judged to be of international quality. We are home to two National Teaching Fellows as well as several Fellows of technical learned societies and authors of some widely used textbooks.
