Study Biomedical Engineering at Kent to learn alongside academics with practical experience in developing medical-electronic systems and researchers with expertise in biological sciences. Choose Biomedical Engineering at Kent because: * our course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), which can fast-track your career as a professional engineer * our graduates have gone on to work at organisations including BAE Systems, RAF and CISCO * you study in our state-of the-art Jennison Design Hub with access to a virtual reality suite, production studio, engineering workshop and fabrication facilities, and dedicated makerspace * our teaching is based on leading-edge research using case studies which incorporate hot topics within industry and emerging technologies. You study modules in biomedical engineering, including digital technologies, biochemistry, electronics, molecular and cellular biology, robotics and engineering mathematics. You also undertake laboratory-based practical work in electronics and biology. In your second and final years, you gain a deeper understanding of biomechanics, human physiology, bioinformatics and genomics, medical physics, programming and product development. You also complete a design or development-based engineering project. You spend a year in industry gaining invaluable work experience and greatly enhancing your CV. You can also apply for a placement through our exchange agreement with Hong Kong City University. This takes place between your second and final years.
