Course Summary

Set in 600 acres of countryside in North Staffordshire, we have one of the largest and most beautiful campuses in Britain. We’re proud to be No.2 in England for Student Satisfaction with Course (Guardian University League Table, 2020), investing more than £140m in our campus in the last ten years, including £45m new science laboratories. In 2021 we were proud to be awarded Sustainability Institution of the Year at the prestigious Green Gown Awards as part of our mission to become a carbon neutral campus by 2030. We're committed to supporting you to achieve your career goals, and have a dedicated Careers and Employability team who can assist you to navigate your options beyond Keele. Explore analytical and logical approaches to individual and business behaviour, markets and policies. This course will also provide you with a range of analytical and quantitative skills such as knowledge of professional software like Bloomberg and Stata. You will study the economic behaviour of households, businesses and governments and examine the functioning of markets and the effects of fiscal and monetary policies. The course will help you to understand a range of current issues including austerity and recession, growth and currency fluctuations and why markets may fail to operate efficiently. You will graduate with a range of skills and capabilities, both subject-related and more general, lifelong skills, such as analytical ability, critical thinking and advanced quantitative skills. You may also have the opportunity to take a placement year between years two and three of your studies, so you can apply theories and concepts to real world organisations (visa restrictions apply).
