Course Summary
Set in 600 acres of countryside in North Staffordshire, we have one of the largest and most beautiful campuses in Britain. We’re proud to be No.2 in England for Student Satisfaction with Course (Guardian University League Table, 2020), investing more than £140m in our campus in the last ten years, including £45m new science laboratories. In 2021 we were proud to be awarded Sustainability Institution of the Year at the prestigious Green Gown Awards as part of our mission to become a carbon neutral campus by 2030. We're committed to supporting you to achieve your career goals, and have a dedicated Careers and Employability team who can assist you to navigate your options beyond Keele.
Our Integrated Master’s degree in Data Science with Applied Business Informatics will bring the core subject knowledge to a higher level, enabling you to become an independent decision maker for a specialist career in data science, business or finance, or for doctoral research.
The MSci programme complements our Single Honours Data Science with Applied Business Informatics course with an additional year at Master's level. The first three years will give you a solid understanding of the business context of AI and data science applications, and a well-grounded knowledge of the principles and methods from mathematics, statistics and computer science.
The final year will further strengthen your independent critical thinking, problem solving, professional and research skills. You will focus on advanced technical topics, including time series models, cloud computing; specialised subjects such as international finance, international business and multinational accounting; as well as on your personal development through a range of different modules.
Finally, you will undertake a substantial research project, analysing current issues in industry or research, under the guidance of an experienced supervisor.
