This course will provide a solid understanding of the concepts behind cybersecurity and teach you how to master the techniques to implement secure IT solutions, which are among the most sought-after skills in industry and business.
In Computer Science, you’ll learn to use technology to create new opportunities and to solve a wide range of problems, benefiting every aspect of society from the home to business, industry and beyond. By following the Cybersecurity route through this degree programme, you will gain knowledge of the fundamental concepts behind computer and network security and acquire the practical understanding and technical skills for the design and implementation of modern secure solutions.
The fundamentals of programming, algorithms, and computer architecture are covered early in our programme, so that no in-depth previous experience is necessary for you to move on to the more advanced topics that will help you build a competitive CV. This specialism is informed by research; you will explore practical application of cutting-edge techniques on real-world problems and later spend time examining current research topics and applying proposed approaches from the literature to practical scenarios.
