This course aims to give you an understanding of how those decisions are made, and encourages you to take an in-depth look at issues such as conflict resolution, democratisation and development, and systems of governance. We'll give you the opportunity to gain a critical understanding of political processes and institutions, focusing specifically on British politics. From working for an MP to helping at a non-governmental organisation (NGO), educational institution or media outlet, you’ll be given the chance to gain some practical experience in a professional setting. * In your second year you may have the opportunity to study abroad for a term. * You’ll have the chance to get involved in a range of extra-curricular activities. You could also benefit from guest lecturers such as MPs and political figures, and engage in student-led debates. * We encourage students to get involved with the active student Politics Society to gain practical experience.
