This exciting degree allows you to study computer science and explore the digital technologies used by the creative industries, including television and radio, film and video, architecture, software and computer games, design, and advertising. Computer science techniques are at the core of many of the application areas in these industries. This course will equip you with a solid grounding in the technical skills required to make you a sought-after professional in this field. This course will develop your computing fundamentals , digital skills, and creative talent. You will study core aspects of computer programming and new digital technologies used by the creative industries, including animation, journalism, web technologies, software and computer games, design, and creativity. A particular strength of this programme is a solid grounding in technical skills required to develop computing programs as well as creative, design skills and knowledge of new technologies. You will also benefit from being taught by academic staff who have a worldwide reputation in computer graphics, design, journalism, games and visualisation research. Mixing computing, technologies with creative skills will give you access to a wide range of sectors and with a full understanding of how these new technologies can enhance and positively affect all areas of business. Give yourself the skills to become a specialist in computing and creativity; not only with the ability to program, but to design, create visual plans, story-telling and fabrication. ‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time.
