This degree builds on the industry-recognised HNC/D programmes. All first year entrants will start on the HNC and the entry requirements are therefore for this programme. Successful completion will allow you to progress to the second year of the HND. Following achievement of the HND, you can progress to the third year of the degree. Applicants already holding a relevant HNC qualification can apply for direct entry to the second year. When completing your application make sure you choose year two. Applicants already holding a relevant HND qualification can apply for direct entry to year three, again where this is the case please make sure you choose year three when completing your application.
If you are interested in a career that involves working with people in the sports industry, in the maintenance or improvement of their sporting performance, then BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation is the course for you.
There are a growing range of employment opportunities for people who want to work in sports therapy. There is also increasing appreciation that people who are involved in sport – whether at professional, amateur or recreational level – need appropriate and specific support to avoid injury, treat injury and plan and provide appropriate post-injury rehabilitation.
This course combines both the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an accomplished sports therapist. You will be taught by our expert team of sports therapy and rehabilitation professionals and have access to excellent on-campus sports facilities. In addition, work placement opportunities will enable you to relate your acquired theoretical knowledge to real-life practices.

Additional Fee Information
This is a Top-Up Degree whereby Year 1 of the course comprises an HNC and in some cases Year 2 an HND. Courses which comprise an HN award as their first and/or second year will be charged the Higher National fee for the first and/or second year, increasing to the degree fee rate after this. Please see the course page for specific fees details. RUK students will be charged the RUK HN fee for the Higher National portion of the programme and the degree portion will be charge at the RUK degree fee, the fourth year of consecutive study on the programme is free.
EU/EEA and Swiss nationals starting their study in Scotland from academic year 2021-22, who do not have settled status, will be considered as international for fee purposes. For 2021-22, the university offered an automatic scholarship for the degree (3rd) year and the 4th year of study free for those studying full-time, on continuous study. A decision on scholarships for 2022-23 entry is still to be confirmed.
