Course Summary

The BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy degree offers a dynamic approach to the study of physiotherapy and provides you with the problem solving abilities to become a competent professional physiotherapist. You will gain a solid knowledge base and placement experiences appropriate to cope with contemporary physiotherapy practice. The course focuses on anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, physiotherapy practice and electrotherapy. You gain research skills and benefit from learning with students from different professions throughout the three years.

Standard Qualification Requirements

Two appropriate science* GCE A2 subjects at a minimum of 'A' and 'B' grades and a further 'B' grade in another GCE A2 subject. Appropriate Sciences for Physiotherapy include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, PE, Psychology, Sociology

Access Diploma to HE in a Science subject - Pass Access Diploma to include at least 36x level 3 credits at Distinction and 9x level 3 credits at Merit. At least 24 credits should be in appropriate Science subjects* with additional life science subjects where possible. We do not accept Sports , Health, Nursing or Social Care Access diplomas

128 UCAS points (33 IB points) from a minimum of 2x HL subjects at grade 6 or above and 1x HL subjects at grade 5 above. Of these at least 1x HL grade 6 and 1x HL grade 5 must be in appropriate Science* subjects

"BTEC National Extended Diploma in a Science subject: 'D,D,M'. BTEC National Diploma in a SCIENCE SUBJECT: 'D,D' WITH a GCE A2 at a minimum of a 'C' grade in an appropriate Science* subject studied concurrently; BTEC National Extended Certificate: 'D' with 2x GCE A2s at a minimum of 'B,B' grades in appropriate Science* subjects studied concurrently. *Appropriate Science subjects for Physiotherapy include: Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, Sociology and Sports Science.
