Course Summary

**Study a mental health nursing degree for a rewarding career supporting the recovery of individuals with mental health issues.** Mental health nurses play an important role in the health and well-being of people with mental health problems and their families and carers. Our degree in mental health nursing prepares you for the role and responsibilities as a registered mental health nurse. You'll be working in the NHS serving south-east London and Kent. We provide you with the skills to meet the diverse needs of people with mental health problems, including those with complex needs. You will learn accountability for the role you will play in their lives. We prepare you to apply for registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Our course will help you achieve the outcomes identified in the NMC Standards Framework for Pre-registration Nursing Programmes (2019). All nursing students on courses from September 2020 may benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year, which they will not need to pay back **What you should know about this course** * 91.89% Overall Student Satisfaction in Mental Health Nursing (2020 National Student Survey) * Nursing and Midwifery at Greenwich is number one in London for satisfaction with teaching (Guardian League Tables 2021). * Students studying this course can expect to earn up to £30,000 on graduation (HESA, 2020). * You will be placed in one a NHS trust for the three-year course, although you will have the opportunity to change your placement area for part of Year 3. * We are currently developing a brand new skills laboratory and simulation suites where you will be able to practice your acquired skills.
