Course Summary

**If you're a graduate looking for a rewarding career as a registered Learning Disabilities nurse, our innovative Master's in Nursing will help you achieve your goals.** Becoming a learning disabilities nurse requires a unique blend of sensitivity and skill. This MSc course offers clinical placements and a varied and engaging glimpse into the many possibilities for future careers. Lessons on-campus take place in simulated wards in addition to lecture theatres and are taught by a first-class team of highly skilled, expert lecturers. Your clinical placements provide an opportunity to put your theoretical learning into practice, working alongside highly skilled and experienced LD nurses at the cutting edge of patient care. You will experience the work of specialist services - from community nursing teams and emergency departments to on-going care services for children with long term and complex needs, including end-of-life care. All nursing students on courses from September 2020 will benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year, which they will not need to pay back. "Like all universities, the University of Greenwich must develop our pre-registration nursing and midwifery courses in line with the requirements as stated in the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (2018) standards framework for nursing and midwifery education. These standards underpin all education for nurses, midwives and nursing associates to ensure courses reflect the safety and needs of the public, the profession and our students. To do this we have a schedule of programme re-approvals, and this course and the module content is currently subject to this review process. We anticipate this to be finalised by Jan 2021 and will consult you of any further changes should they arise before the start date.”
