**Study our degree in midwifery for rewarding careers supporting women and their families through childbirth.**
Midwives are the lead professionals at all straightforward births, whether this takes place at home, a birth centre or in hospital. Our midwifery degree prepares you for the role and responsibilities of a registered midwife. You'll be working in the NHS serving the women and families of south-east London and Kent.
We provide the skills you need to meet the needs of women and babies. This will include childbirth in the delivery suite, birth centres and home environments. You will learn accountability for the role you play in their lives, both during and after pregnancy.
We prepare you to apply for registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Our degree will help you achieve the outcomes identified in the NMC Standards for Pre-registration Midwifery Education (2009).
Midwifery students on courses from September 2020 may benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year, which they will not need to pay back.
