Course Summary

**The BSc (Hons) Management with Economics places an emphasis on the wider social, historical and political context in which organisations operate, and how it shapes the circulation, and demand/supply, of goods and services.** It will equip you with a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of management. You'll learn about key economic, financial, and psychological knowledge-bases that will form the basic tools you need to effectively manage and lead people at work, and engage in activities such as business creation and product/business development. The degree will also prepare you for work in large, multinational and small-to-medium sized organisations that are global in nature, innovative, entrepreneurial and digitally cutting-edge. Course Details - Modules

Year 1 (credit level 4) compulsory modules: Organisations and Organisational Strategy Foundations of Economics Understanding Entrepreneurship Introduction to Marketing Developing Business Ideas and Opportunities Finance and Accounting Marketing Management. Year 2 (credit level 5) modules: Organisational Behaviour Research in Management Mathematics for Economics and Business Economic Reasoning History of Economic Ideas You will also take 30 credits of modules from an approved list from other departments (History, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, and Politics). Year 3 (credit level 6) compulsory modules: Leadership and Talent Management International Business Intermediate Macroeconomics Intermediate Microeconomics Manias, Bubbles, Crises and Market Failure Individual and Institutional Economic Behaviour. Optional modules to the value of 30 credits from an approved list from other departments and the Institute of Management Studies, which may include Project Management, The Psychology of Marketing and Advertising, Assessment and Selection, Training, Coaching and Counselling. Students will also be able to apply for a Work Placement modules that is worth 15 credits. International Economics Further Mathematics for Economics Topics in Economic Policy Money, Banking and the Financial System Marketing Analytics Please note that due to staff research commitments not all of these modules may be available every year.
