The new BSc Business Analytics degree at Aston offers a unique mix of general business studies in the first year which acts as a foundation. The second and final years focus more on specialised business analytics’ tools and techniques. You will study how analytical and computing tools can be applied in the business setting, to provide businesses with fresh insight and help tackle complex problems. The degree offers a balanced approach of teaching, hands-on practice and training in the relevant tools to prepare students for the wide variety of issues they are likely to face in their professional career. Subject areas include , Operations Management, Accounting for Business, Informational Technology in Business and Mathematics for economics. Year 2 - You will begin to specialise in business analytics subjects, tools and techniques that can be applied in practice. Subject areas include Optimisation and Decision Analytics, Data Visualisation and Software for Analytics. Year 3 - This is when you will undertake a professional placement or choose an international study opportunity at one of our partner institutions. This year is compulsory for all UK students. Year 4 - The final year continues with further specialisation in business analytics, with subject areas including Simulation, Effective Management Consultancy, Performance and Efficiency Analytics and Strategic Management.
