**Why Visual Communication (Level 6)?**
Our Visual Communication (Level 6) course allows you to top up your existing Level 5 qualification, such as a foundation degree or HND, to a full BA honours degree. Building on your existing knowledge, you’ll become an accomplished multi-skilled designer and communicator, with a professional portfolio and industry contacts for a successful career. Picking modules in advertising, graphic design and illustration to suit your own passions and ambitions, you’ll graduate with a range of specialist skills such as branding, publication layout, storyboarding, pitching and illustrating. With opportunities to work on live briefs and gain experience on placements, with organisations such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Kraft, Gravitas, Taxi Studios and Superdry, our graduates stand out from the competition.
You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers and learn from professionals within the industry, for example on our Creative Portfolio module guest lecturers have included creative directors from agencies like McCann Bristol and Publicis London. You may also have the chance to gain exposure through exhibitions and design competitions, following in the footsteps of previous students who have won D&AD New Blood Exhibition awards and a Chip Shop award. You’ll also benefit from being taught in state-of-the-art facilities at our design studios in Cheltenham, using the latest Apple hardware and Adobe software.
**Why University of Gloucestershire?**
We’ve been using our expertise to support and inspire students since 1847. Join us and you will benefit from professional-standard facilities in the beautiful, historic surroundings of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Our vibrant and tight-knit community of over 10,000 students and staff paired with a wide variety of courses means you will have the best of both worlds – a diverse community of sports clubs, societies and activities while also benefiting from specialist lecturers who value you as an individual.
Who Cares? We do. We care about our students and the planet. We listened to what our students value most, turning our prospectus digital and providing opportunities for them to protect the planet and move on to study in an environment that works hard to support future generations. As a result, we’re proud that the University of Gloucestershire has been judged the UK’s most sustainable university.
Our students never tire of finding inspiration here in the dynamic county of Gloucestershire, home to over 45 festivals every year, including 2000trees, Wychwood and the world-famous Cheltenham Literature festival. Many students gain valuable skills and experience working at these events alongside their studies.
**After the course**
Your story with us doesn’t end at graduation. Through our innovative Your Future Plan scheme, you will be supported to become the graduate that you want to be, making industry connections and taking part in placements and field trips that offer invaluable experience outside of the lecture theatre. We are proud of our record that 93% of University of Gloucestershire graduates are in work or further study six months after completing their course*.
