Photography: Editorial and Advertising (with Foundation)
Course Summary
**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?**
An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Photography: Editorial and Advertising, you'll develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course.
**Why Photography: Editorial and Advertising?**
Our Photography: Editorial and Advertising degree enables you to develop the creative skills, professional know-how and industry contacts for a successful career in photography. You’ll explore moving and still image and develop retouching skills covering genres from fashion to music, sports to food, interiors to celebrity, beauty to travel and more. With opportunities to gain experience on placements with magazines and newspapers such as ‘InStyle’, ‘Mail on Sunday’, ‘The Guardian’, ‘Vanity Fair’ and ‘Vogue’, our graduates stand out from the competition. There is the chance to work on live briefs from global brands such as Converse, AllSaints, SHOWstudio, lululemon athletica, Specialized and Superdry.
You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers and learn from leading professionals, including photographers who have worked for ‘Vogue’, ‘Tatler’ and Getty Images. You can gain valuable insights through meeting and assisting professional photographers and exhibiting work to high-profile creative employers, in locations such as London, Milan, Paris, New York, Shanghai and Vancouver (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). Working in our professional studios, you’ll take advantage of industry-standard cameras, lighting equipment, darkrooms and digital suites as well as state-of-the-art software such as Capture One Pro, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. The course benefits from accreditation with ScreenSkills and affiliation with AOP (the Association of Photographers).
