**Why MEng Industrial Control Engineering?**
Our MEng Industrial Control Engineering is an integrated course that includes Level 4-6 learning, as found on a BEng degree, as well as Level 7 Master’s programme content. You’ll therefore be well prepared to address advanced issues in contemporary industrial control engineering as a multi-skilled engineer, or by progressing to further study and research at doctoral level. Developing your knowledge and skills in both analytical and practical aspects of control engineering, you’ll learn to apply creativity and innovation in solving challenges in the implementation of the ‘Internet of Things’, ‘Industry 4.0’ and ‘Industry 5.0’.
You’ll gain advanced knowledge, with areas of study including discrete control systems, stability and control of non-liner systems, smart sensors, competitive and reliability engineering, applied artificial intelligence, creative and innovative design projects, and an advanced research project. The course is designed with a strong focus on industrial applications and you’ll benefit from our experience in knowledge exchange and links with companies such as ABB, MOOG, SC Group, Spirax Sarco, Dowty Propeller, Kohler Mira and Total Metal Products Ltd, offering you opportunities to put your knowledge into practice. Our specialist labs will also give you the necessary equipment for a range of experiments in both electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering.
