Course Summary

**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?** An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Animation, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course. **Why Animation?** Our Animation degree prepares you to flourish in an exciting and fast-changing industry, giving you the practical skills needed to be successful. You can tailor your study to suit your own passions and career ambitions, whether your particular interest is in feature films, television, games, apps, advertising or music videos. With opportunities to work on live projects and placements in collaboration with organisations such as Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Rumpus in Bristol and Splash Entertainment in California, our graduates stand out from the competition. You’ll get the chance to network and showcase work at key animation events and festivals, in UK locations such as Bristol, Exeter and London as well as in international settings such as at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). Experienced lecturers including industry experts and award-winning animators offer a wealth of expertise for you to draw on, plus you’ll learn from other practising professionals, by undertaking a workshop at the Aardman studios for example. You’ll be inspired in our state-of-the-art animation studio, using technology such as the latest Adobe Suite, Maya, TVPaint and Wacom Pro Tablets. **Why University of Gloucestershire?** We’ve been using our expertise to support and inspire students since 1847.
