**Why an Integrated Foundation Stage?**
An Integrated Foundation Stage starts your degree studies with a year spent learning the skills required to progress onto a full honours degree. Alongside an introduction to Accounting and Finance, you will develop valuable study skills, communication, team work and problem-solving techniques which help to build your confidence and prepare you for the rest of your course.
**Why Accounting and Finance?**
Our Accounting and Finance degree gives you essential knowledge in accounting, financial markets and the global business environment. You can specialise in subjects from taxation to environmental accounting, allowing you to pursue your own individual career ambitions. With the opportunity for an unforgettable trip to Ho Chi Minh City (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details), as well as placements with renowned companies such as PWC and Boots, our ‘Make It’ programme of business experiences really helps our graduates stand out from the competition.
You’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive professional credentials and research experience, and be inspired by industry guest speakers. The university is one of only four in the UK to be accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). We are also accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of International Accountants (AIA). This ensures your qualification not only meets the high expectations of leading accountancy bodies, but gives you maximum exemptions from professional exams when you graduate. You will also take advantage of the cutting-edge facilities at our brand new state-of-the-art School of Business and Technology building at Oxstalls campus, Gloucester, including a live Thomson Reuters trading room and equipment you’d find in company headquarters around the globe.
**Why University of Gloucestershire?**
We’ve been using our expertise to support and inspire students since 1847. Join us and you will benefit from professional-standard facilities in the beautiful, historic surroundings of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Our vibrant and tight-knit community of over 10,000 students and staff paired with a wide variety of courses means you will have the best of both worlds – a diverse community of sports clubs, societies and activities while also benefiting from specialist lecturers who value you as an individual.
Who Cares? We do. We care about our students and the planet. We listened to what our students value most, turning our prospectus digital and providing opportunities for them to protect the planet and move on to study in an environment that works hard to support future generations. As a result, we’re proud that the University of Gloucestershire has been judged the UK’s most sustainable university.
Our students never tire of finding inspiration here in the dynamic county of Gloucestershire, home to over 45 festivals every year, including 2000trees, Wychwood and the world-famous Cheltenham Literature festival.
