Course Summary

This Higher National qualification is aimed at students wanting to continue their education through applied learning and experience a wide-ranging study of the construction and the built environment sector. It is intended for students who wish to pursue or advance their career in an industry where a variety of technical roles such as architectural technician, site supervision or surveying could be followed. As a part-time programme, you will study over two years, attending college one day per week. The course places a large demand on your personal time and you should, therefore, allow for approximately 8 hours of self-study each week. The course is designed to give students an experience of the breadth and depth of the sector that will prepare them for further study (degree level) or training. Your options after completion of the course are to convert your (HNC) Certificate to an (HND) Diploma or apply to university to top up your qualification to a full degree. **Alumni Testimonials** “My favourite thing about the course was learning about a range of construction processes and activities that many of my contemporaries at work knew about, but I didn’t, and that set me back a little. The HNC helped fill in the gaps.” “After finishing my MSc in Construction Project Management at UWE, I started working for Design Software Solutions. My role involves setting companies up with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and new software and processes for the construction industry.”*
