Course Summary

Adult nurses operate as confident, competent and compassionate practitioners, engaging in values based nursing. Become a Registered Nurse and develop skills to improve health and wellbeing of individuals, their families and communities. With a fully-equipped simulated ward area on campus and close to Scotland’s leading hospitals, studying at GCU gives you access to excellent facilities. The Interprofessional Clinical Simulation Centre, a fully equipped simulated home and hospital environment, situated on campus, is used to provide opportunities for the development and practice of clinically focused skills in a safe, supported and highly effective learning environment. You will experience a variety of clinical placements and will learn through a wide variety of methods. Clinical practice accounts for 50% of the course, including community and hospital placements as well as independent and voluntary sector experience. Upon graduation you will be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Standard Qualification Requirements

Applied Science, Biological/Biomedical Science or Health Care related at DMM. GCSE Maths and English at C/4 is also required.

Must include English, plus Ordinary level Maths and a Science at minimum 04

in Maths and a Science, along with the required ILC Highers

preferably including a science subject, and GCSE English language and Maths at C/4

Any Health or Science related HNC with an A in the graded unit No advanced entry with HNC

Must include Higher English plus SG2/National 5 C/GCSE C in Maths and a science

with English at Higher level 4 and maths at least at standard level 4

Applicants should have recent assessed study (not work based) within the past 5 years, and a reference which should be relevant within the past 9 months
