Course Summary

This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to become a respected and credible music producer and/or DJ, making use of effective and current business practices, and thereby achieving a sustainable career in the music industry with emphasis on the portfolio model. We regret that this course is not currently available to applicants who’d require a Student Visa. However, we also offer BA(Hons) Electronic Music & Business on a 2-year, full-time distance learning basis, and this is open to everyone. Course Details - Modules

Year One: The first year of study focuses on creating original music, developing skills in professional production: recording, mixing and mastering, alongside an exploration of traditional and current music industry practice. Modules · Your Electronic Music · Your Electronic Music Industry · Making Original Music · Your Strategy Year Two: In the second year of the course, the focus shifts towards the development of identity and honing your personal style by exploring innovation in music production and the electronic music business. Modules · Your Musical Direction · Event Management in Electronic Music · Innovation in Electronic Music · Innovation in Music Industry Year Three: The third year is the bridge into your future employment. The course moves towards the producer fully taking charge of the direction of their musical and project work. Standard Qualification Requirements

We welcome A Levels in a wide range of subjects, especially in those relevant to the course for which you apply.

A typical offer is between 104 and 120 UCAS points, primarily from Level 3 equivalent qualifications, such as A levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma or a Foundation Diploma, or current, relevant experience. Grade 4 (or C) or above in GCSE English Language, or equivalent, is a minimum language requirement for all applicants. Due to the creative nature of our courses, you will be considered on your own individual merit and potential to succeed on your chosen course. We may consider a standalone AS in a relevant subject, if it is taken along with other A Levels and if an A Level has not been taken in the same subject. However, you will not be disadvantaged if you do not have a standalone AS subject as we will not ordinarily use them in our offers.
