This programme will help those looking to develop a career as a mechanical design/test engineer. During the course you will enhance your problem solving skills by studying topics such fluid mechanics and mechanical principles. Based in the state of the art Technology Centre, you have the choice between a full time or part time programme in which you will achieve a HNC qualification in either one or two years respectively. You will already have gained an HNC and this ‘top-up’ is to gain a HND with a third year of study. You should either be employed by or intend to pursue a career in a relevant industry. You will study a number of core modules alongside your specialist modules. Modules will develop your understanding of a wide range of engineering techniques and
provide you with the analytical tools and concepts necessary to understand the technical and managerial issues you may face in an engineering career. You will apply theories and techniques to real world examples.
All previous students have either achieved a promotion or progressed their career in a job with increased responsibility, following this programme. You may also wish to continue your studies. You can progress on to an HND programme with Exeter College.
