This programme provides you with the critical skills and experience required for a variety of roles within the health and social care sector, including health education and promotion, housing, community work, residential care and drug and alcohol services. You will benefit from our strong industry links, with expert guidance and assessment feedback direct from employers. You will also complete a minimum of 50 hours vocational work experience in the health and social care sector. The broad subject area allows you to tailor your assignments to your specific vocational interests.
The designated progression route is the Plymouth University BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care (Top-Up) Year 3 at Exeter College. Alternatively you can progress onto the Sociology Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (BSc Hons) at Plymouth University, under certain circumstances onto the BSc (Hons) Public Services (Top-Up) Year 3 (subject to approval) or move into direct employment. You may also progress directly into employment in the health, care, voluntary and charitable sectors.
