Course Summary

Based at our purpose-built Technology Centre, this programme provides the ideal progression path for students completing the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and will provide you with the theoretical and practical skills to move forward to become a licensed aircraft engineer. As part of your programme we aim to take trips to further your learning. You will also receive the practical hand skills training expected of an aircraft maintenance technician. How will I be taught and assessed? The programme balances assignments and examinations in almost equal measure. You will undertake formal lectures and workshop practical training. You can also progress on to the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) at Kingston University which is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society. There is a one year Full Time and a Part Time two year option available. You could go on to careers such as… Working in the aerospace industry with companies such as Virgin Connect, British Airways and Air Canada. The skills you will learn are also transferable with students also able to look at careers outside aviation such as the Power and Rail Industries. Standard Qualification Requirements

A minimum of 64 UCAS tariff points from A levels in Mathematics and Physics at Grade C or above, a BTEC Extended National Diploma in Engineering at Grade Profile MPP or above, an Access to HE qualification in relevant science or engineering discipline or other qualifications deemed equivalent to the above. GCSE passes at Grade 4 and above in Mathematics, English and a science-based subject are also required.
