Our course helps you to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to enable you to work with clients of all ages who have physical, mental health or learning difficulties. This three-year programme enables you to take advantage of interprofessional learning (IPL), encouraging professionals to learn with and from one another - an understanding that helps to ensure you have the expertise to respond adequately and effectively to the complexity of your clients’ needs, and ensures that care is safe, seamless and of a high standard.

Standard Qualification Requirements

We are happy to accept the Access to HE Diploma in a relevant pathway e.g. Health Professions, Social Sciences.

Including Standard Level English, Science and Mathematics or Maths Studies grade 4 or above (if not taken at Higher Level). Mathematics, English and Science in the IB are not required if you have already achieved GCSEs in these subjects at grade C/4 or above. We are happy to consider a combination of separate IB Diploma Programmes at both Higher and Standard Level. Exact offer levels will vary depending on the range of subjects being taken at higher and standard level, and the course applied for. Please contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office for more information.

Entry requirements for students studying BTEC qualifications are dependent on subjects studied. Advice can be provided on an individual basis. The standard required is generally at Distinction level.

In addition all applicants require 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) to include Mathematics, Science and English. Alongside academic criteria, applicants need to demonstrate knowledge of the scope of Occupational Therapy and practice settings, together with effective communication skills.
