Global Studies with Politics (Including Year Abroad)

Global Studies with Politics (Including Year Abroad)
Course Summary
Conflict between nations; globalisation; political economies; cultural differences and how democracy operates all shape the environment we live in. The modern world faces many challenges and at Essex we approach these issues from a truly global perspective. Studying topics like the war on terror, international relations, political power and migration, our course gives you an excellent basis for a career in media, education, politics, the Civil Service, international organisations such as the UN and many other fields.
Our staff in our Department of Government are advising the CIA on counter-terrorism, training politicians and civil servants in democratising countries and commentating on political events in national and international media – meaning you'll be taught by academics who really know their stuff.
You will also be taught by academics in our Interdisciplinary Studies Centre, giving you access to experts from across the humanities and social sciences.
You spend your third year studying abroad allowing you to experience other cultures and languages, to broaden your degree socially and academically, and to demonstrate to employers that you are mature, adaptable, and organised.
