Course Summary

Speaking multiple languages can widen your employability opportunities and enrich your travel experiences. On this broad business management course, you learn two modern languages of your choice. You spend your third year abroad to immerse yourself in another culture, gain an international perspective on management and practise your language skills. You gain an intensive, comprehensive language education, covering vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and speaking. You study one of your languages to mastery level and develop your practical language skills through classes taught by native speakers. Management modules take a global, intercultural and ethical perspective. Study topics include: international business environment; leadership in organisations; organisational behaviour; business strategy and human resource management. Your first year introduces you to the main functional areas of business, including accounting and marketing, so you can work in any area of management. In your final year, you put your knowledge into practice by completing an in depth, independent research project or dissertation (subject to approval). This gives you the chance to further develop vital employability skills in research, time management and critical thinking. Studying abroad gives you a better understanding of cultural sensitivities, as well as how business customs, norms vary across the world. This means you can begin your graduate job search as an attractive candidate for multi-national organisations and your experience may mean you can transfer to an overseas office. You can learn an additional language for free with Languages For All, join more than 20 cultural societies and sample a range of global cuisine.
