Course Summary

Our MEng in Electronic and Renewable Energy Systems will develop you as an independent thinker and learner, where you’ll acquire holistic engineering skills, and develop the experience as a technical team leader or director. On this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of the technical, business, and managerial skills, becoming accustomed to working on realworld electronic systems and renewable energy engineering projects involving design, analysis, and optimisation. This project-based course will give you extensive hands-on learning in power electronics, electric drives, and solar/wind power test benches in our new electronic lab. Each year will have practical laboratory classes and project work where you can apply your knowledge to real life work situations, developing the skills for a variety of exciting careers. Like our BEng course, our MEng is accredited by the IET, meaning it will equip you with the skills and expertise you will need to meet the challenges of a constantly changing industrial world and help you work towards recognised internationally engineering chartership. A four-year MEng course is a three-year undergraduate degree with a one-year master’s degree in one course. On completing an MEng course, you can apply directly for CEng status. Our project-based curricula puts employability at the heart of engineering education by integrating learning in the context of realworld projects. The Electronic and Renewable Energy Systems MEng degree is a modern course that has been developed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to work and research in electronic and renewable energy systems. As global demand for energy grows, governments and companies are increasingly seeking to reduce the world’s dependence on fossil fuels. This course allows you to study electronic engineering alongside specialist topics in the field of renewable energy systems to meet these challenges head-on. Our four-year Electronic and Renewable Energy Systems degree course has been newly reimagined, focusing on project-based learning, allowing you to take your in-class theory and apply it in a hands-on project module that will run throughout the year.
