Electronic Engineering sits at the forefront of future product development, connectivity and communications. On this continuous master’s degree, you will be working on real-world embedded systems and microelectronic and robotics engineering projects. You’ll get hands on with design, coding, analysis, optimisation, and manufacturing of smart connected electronics and robotics systems, and gain skills in team and project management and leadership. ARU’s new project-based MEng Electronic Engineering course aims to equip you with vital knowledge and theory through realworld engineering projects. The emphasis of the course is to develop skills by frequently working in teams, taking on different roles and presenting your work. You will be put in the centre of your engineering education by carrying out the four phases of an engineering project (design, analyse, build and test). You will develop both technical skills and knowledge associated with the engineering profession and would consider the implications of the projects in terms of their economic, social and environmental impacts. This leads to graduating as a confident engineer and a critical thinker, who is committed to ongoing learning and is ready and inspired to use your problem-solving skills to influence change and positively impact society. The design of the course considers recent trends towards Industry 4.0 with emphasis on digital tools for engineering and manufacturing, internet of things, and systematic approach in project-based learning. With an ever-growing demand for skilled electronics and robotics engineers, our new curriculum has sought to be accredited by the IET and will equip you with the skills and expertise you will need to meet the challenges of a constantly changing industrial world and help you work towards recognised internationally engineering chartership. Project-based MEng Electronic Engineering puts employability at the heart of engineering education by integrating learning in the context of real-world projects. Our graduates are expected to be confident engineers and team leaders, critical thinkers and inspired to use their problem-solving skills to influence change and innovation and impact society and will practice real-world embedded systems and microelectronic and robotics engineering projects involving design, coding, analysis, optimisation, and manufacturing of smart connected electronics and robotics systems of the 21st century.

Course Details – Assessment Method

A Project Based Learning approach is used throughout this course. You will be assessed regularly so that you can check your progress. We’ll use a range of methods, including exams, practical reports, computer-based assessments, presentations, reviews of scientific papers, projects, oral presentations, poster presentations, technical reports, feasibility studies, design exercises, laboratory reports and coding exercises.
