Prepare for the social, political and cultural challenges facing contemporary businesses, governments and not-for-profit organisations by studying International Business with Japanese. You will develop the personal and professional competences required to work across a range of roles in contemporary business including: * accountancy and finance * strategy * marketing * human resource management * data analytics * entrepreneurship and innovation Taught by world-leading industry professionals and researchers, you can specialise in areas of business such as: * Global Business * Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation * Eco Innovation * Future of Work * Theories and Techniques of Persuasion **Japanese** You will study Japanese language at beginner, post-beginner or advanced level, depending on your existing language skills. Courses will include kana writing (Japanese phonetic writing), and an introduction to some kanji (Japanese Characters). **International Business** You will specialise in international business in Year 2 and examine areas such as: * the different types of foreign market entry strategy * the world trade regime * the various elements that comprise this environment e.g. EU / NAFTA Your studies will also include: * the role of the multinational enterprise and the process of foreign direct investment * cultural issues * technology * intellectual property rights and finance * interaction between governments and investors You will further develop your Japanese language skills at the appropriate level, as well as your understanding of Japanese society. **Complusory year abroad** You will have a compulsory study year abroad in Year 3 at one of our international partner institutions in Japan. For degrees that have a subject requirement of a language other than English, students may not use their own native language to meet this requirement. Additional Fee Information

Scotland In 2021-22 the fee level set by the Scottish Government was £1,820. The 2022-23 fee rate is expected to be confirmed by the Scottish Government in early 2022. Students must apply to the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) for payment of their tuition fees. England/Wales/N Ireland The Rest of UK (RUK) rate is yet to be confirmed and was £9,250 for 2021 entry. For 2022 entry this may increase in line with inflation and will be subject to government limits. EU On 9th July 2020 the decision was made by the Scottish Government to end free university tuition for European Union (EU) students starting in 2021-22.
