We’ll take you, step by step, through the major building blocks of data science which will enable you to gain highly marketable skills such as programming, data acquisition and cleaning, data analysis and feature extraction, data visualisation, data mining, and machine learning. We incorporate genuine datasets and industry-simulated projects and practices into our modules, so that you gain a thorough understanding of the challenges and constraints that businesses and industry face. You’ll be able to craft your skills and expertise accordingly, and graduate ready to work in the fast-paced field of data science. Our Data and Analytical Science foundation degree features a mix of lectures, tutorials, demos and practical sessions. Throughout the course you’ll find there’s an emphasis on developing important transferable skills, such as problem-solving and team working. Our foundation degree also offers a progression route (with 50% or higher overall grade) to our BSc (Hons) Data and Analytical Sciencee. 195 credits will be awarded on progression.

Our module case studies, and final year project assess your ability to analyse situations, identify key issues, select, synthesise, and apply techniques and skills from different modules, and evaluate the appropriateness of solutions when compared to industrial practice.
