Our facilities include a Biomechanics Lab, Physiology Lab (with a climate and altitude chamber) and a Human performance Lab. This course will provide you with a sound grounding within the three core areas essential to any applied sports scientist, being Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Sports Psychology. Alongside these key areas, you will also gather an introduction to other essential components and gain practical experience that will enable you to develop skills that will benefit any level of performer. Please note SQA Higher PE at Grade B will be accepted in lieu of a Science^ if studied alongside SQA Higher Maths (Minimum Grade C required). Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 33 Credits at Merit & 12 Distinction to include Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Psychology or PE at Level 3. Maths, English and one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics required at Level 2 or equivalent.

Award of Diploma with 28 points overall with three HL subjects at grades 6, 5, 4 including a Science (Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Psychology) at minimum grade 5. 4 points in SL Maths (excluding Maths Studies), 4 points in SL English & Science.

Minimum grades DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit). GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths, English & Science or Double Award Science at grades CC also required.

Grades H2, H2, H3, H3 at Higher Level to include Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry or Physics. Grade O4 at Ordinary Level in Maths, English & Science.

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements HNC - Pass in a related subject* with A in the graded unit. *Fitness, Health and Exercise, Sports & Exercise Science, Applied Sports Science, Applied Biological Science. SQA Advanced Higher - BBC to include Biology A Level - BBB to include Biology Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements HND - Pass in a related subject** with Grades AA at SCQF Level 8 in the graded units. **Fitness, Health and Exercise, Sport & Exercise Science, Applied Sports Science, Applied Biological Science. Students with an HND in Fitness, Health and Exercise must pass the following units: Mechanics for Health and Fitness Professional OR Sports Mechanics OR Human Anatomy, Physiology and Biomechanics in Sport AND Psychology of Sports Coaching OR Psychology or Sport and Exercise OR Psychology of Exercise OR Psychology of Sports Performance.
