You’ll be treated like a professional colleague from day one on our fully accredited Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)and Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) course. You’ll get constant hands-on experience, including running a simulated building company, creating a proposal for a real site development, and producing a proHigh-quality, iconic buildings are changing the skylines of our cities. This means that the construction industry is no longer just about technical competence. Nowadays, managers must focus increasingly on client needs as well as environmental and social concerns. As a manager in the construction industry, you’ll see projects through from start to finish as well as acting as the essential link between your client's ideas and the finished project. On our course, you’ll get to grips with construction and develop your practical skills, to give you solid industry experience. We'll give you a taste of the whole construction process, including surveying, quantity surveying and architectural technology. You'll also develop your management skills, preparing you to work as a professional in industry. This means building your understanding of time management, project management, teamwork and independent thinking. And you’ll learn how your work is affected by the law, budgets, standards, health and safety, ethics and more. Choosing to add in a year’s placement in industry will test and increase your skills while building your CV and your professional contacts. You’ll use our specialist facilities including site-standard surveying equipment and a dedicated computer suite offering the latest in CAD, project management and financial software. There are also labs for geotechnics, hydraulics, structures, engineering materials and concrete-testing. We also offer our Constructionarium which is a week-long construction experience.ject management presentation for clients. This course has been validated to include an optional Sandwich Placement year in industry.
