The BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree has grown in ambition year on year, developing a highly regarded and carefully considered programme which meets current industry demands and nurtures thoughtful graduates who understand the value of ideas, ethics, concept development and design thinking. This programme is a Creative Skillset accredited course since 2012, which means it has been approved by the graphic design industry nationally as a programme which nurtures and produces employable graduates who have been taught to industry standards. The programme is also a D&AD Education Network member, and has won 'best in show' at the D&AD Graduate Showcase ‘New Blood’ in London in 2014, 2015 & 2016, as well as over 30 other individual student awards since 2011. This four-year degree is supported by industry in Scotland and London, providing placements and projects for students. StudioLR, an award winning Edinburgh studio has a strong relationship with the programme, providing input to projects and awarding a Graduate Prize every year since 2011. Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall with minimum 33 Credits at Merit & 12 Distinction including English or a Literary Subject* plus one of: Art, Product Design, Graphic Communication at Level 3.

Award of Diploma with 28 points overall with three subjects at HL with grades 6, 5 and 4. These subjects must include Art or Design and English/Literary subject at 5 or above.

Minimum grades DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit) in a related subject.

Pre 2017: B1, B1, B3, B3 at HL including: Art and English/Literary subject. 2017 onwards: H2, H2, H3, H3 at HL including: Art and English/Literary subject.

Minimum year 2 Please note there are limited places available for Year 2 entry. SQA Advanced Higher BBC to include one of: Art, Product Design, Graphic Communication and English/Literary subject. A Level BBB to include one of: Art, Product Design, Graphic Communication and English/Literary subject. HNC Pass HNC in a relevant subject with Grade B in the graded unit. Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements Please note there are limited places available for Year 3 entry. HND Pass HND in a relevant subject with Grade B. *Literary subjects accepted are: Modern Studies, History, Psychology, Sociology, RMPS, Theology, Media Studies, Philosophy, Politics, Geography, Latin and Classics. Other Entry Requirements As part of the selection process suitably qualified applicants will normally be invited to submit a portfolio/attend an interview.
