Taught primarily at University Hospital Aintree, this foundation degree will help you to develop the skills, understanding and evidence-based practice needed to deliver care in a safe and compassionate way as a nursing associate. The role of nursing associate is a new position in the nursing team in England, where you will work across all four fields of nursing with healthcare workers and registered nurses. You will gain experience supporting a variety of people of all ages across a range of healthcare settings. Typical duties of a nursing associate may include undertaking clinical tasks, supporting individuals and their families and carers, performing and recording clinical observations, discussing and sharing information with registered nurses on a patient’s condition, behaviour, activity and responses, ensuring the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained, and recognising issues related to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
