Mental health nurses work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, some of whom will be facing the most challenging life events. As a mental health nurse, you will deliver care to a range of adults and children with acute and complex mental health care needs, while also gaining a broader awareness of the needs of all client groups and meeting the challenges of a changing healthcare environment. With access to practice learning placements, this degree enables you to register as a qualified mental health nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), having developed the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to help plan, coordinate and deliver care in a safe, compassionate and effective way.

Course Details – Assessment Method
Assessment in both theory and practice is continuous and assessed against national outcomes and generic and field competencies, with students required to demonstrate evidence of their achievement. A range of assessment of theory procedures is in place including assignments, seminar presentations, advanced notice examinations, online learning activities, case studies and portfolio work.
