Course Summary

This degree will enable you to learn about our natural world, balancing the present-day study of physical geography with the geological dimension of how the earth has evolved through time. You will gain skills in the fundamental techniques of both physical geography and geology, with a strong emphasis on practical field and laboratory work. With current fieldwork locations including Cumbria, Anglesey, Ireland, Tenerife and the Scottish Highlands, the course is underpinned by an exploration of the geological features of rivers, oceans and volcanoes, both as they are now and as they were in the geological past. In combination, these investigations will provide a unique perspective on our planet and how it changes. The programme also provides a wealth of transferable skills, enhanced with tailored careers and employability activities across each of the three years, to help you find the career of your choice.
